Snook fishing is the most popular and targeted game fish in the area. They can be targeted year round and are phenomenal fighters. Snook in my region can exceed twenty five pounds which is not uncommon during the summer months, when the snook are spawning. The snook spawn is the most exciting time of the year for those who are targeting a snook of a lifetime. While fishing the spawn there are hundreds of snook willing to take a live bait put on the bottom sea floor. Snook catches reaching double digit numbers is common during an outing. We use many different tactics to catch snook ranging from live bait chumming, fly fishing, and artificial lures. Snook are commonly found around structure like dock pilings, sea walls, mangrove shorelines, grass flats, bridges and rock piles. Sight fishing for snook is done up on the flats during the day and at night time under dock lights. Night time fishing for snook is great for the whole family allowing for everybody to see dozens, even hundreds of snook in just a few hours of fishing. This is also the best time to target snook on fly do the schools of fish near the surface, an 6 to 8 weight fly rod is recommended.

The Indian River Lagoon and Lake Worth Lagoon both provide excellent fishing and offers beginners and expert anglers the chance to hook up with a wide variety of species. During the trip you will see snook under the mangroves trout and reds lying in the shallows and tarpon rolling, as well as dolphins and manatees in there natural environment . The Indian river Lagoon flourishes with thick grass flats making homes for the many species like snook, tarpon, trout, red fish, flounder and pompano to name a few. This area is great for sight casting and fly fishing during the day. The Lake worth Lagoon is an area filled with many docks, and sea walls were targeting snook, tarpon, trout, jacks and pompano can be an experience you will never forget. The scenery is absolutely breath taking as you view the houses and yachts of the rich and famous.

Freshwater fishing is also another adventure Captain Craig offers, targeting Largemouth Bass and the explosive Peacock bass. In the past six years my area has flourished with peacock bass, allowing me to target them year round. The peacock bass is a very aggressive fish, which can be sight fished near shorelines and drop offs. Fly fishing is one method to catch them a 4 to 8 weight rod is recommended. Artificial lures and Live shiners produce great catches also. The spring and summer months provide for the best peacock bass fishing as they school up together during these months. The Largemouth bass fishing is a year round fishery, targeting them with the same tactics as the peacock bass. Many of the bigger largemouth are caught during early spring as they begin to spawn, were they can be seen lying in shoreline beds.
